We will provide you with a quote based on the volume, type of content and eBook formats that are required. Please send details of your project to helpdesk@ebookpartnership.com or complete the form below.

This depends upon the volume and complexity of the content. If you are working to tight deadlines we do offer an expedited service – please contact us for details: helpdesk@ebookpartnership.com

There are two main types of eBook – standard/reflowable formats and fixed-layout formats. As part of our initial quotation process, we would advise which formats are best suited to your content.

Most eBooks are reflowable, with text content that will reflow to fit the display properties and settings of the reader’s device/app. Content that is predominantly text is usually suited to conversion to reflowable eBook formats. This includes novels and narrative non-fiction such as memoirs and biographies.

Reflowable formats have slightly more distribution opportunities and device/app compatibility. The biggest perceived disadvantage of reflowable eBook formats is the low level of control that there is over the layout of the book (page breaks, font choice, text size, etc.).

Fixed-layout eBook formats are used for more complex content such as textbooks, reports, and children’s picture books. The page layout of fixed-layout eBooks is fixed (similar to a PDF file), and looks virtually identical across all supporting device/app combinations.

The big advantage of fixed-layout eBooks is the level of control that there is over the layout of each page, which is why these formats are used for content with multiple columns, lots of images, double-page spreads, and full-bleed images.

Most major eBook sales channels now support fixed-layout eBook formats. Amazon and Barnes & Noble have their own fixed-layout formats, whilst most other sales channels support fixed-layout ePUB files.

Please send details of your project to helpdesk@ebookpartnership.com and we can advise you on whether reflowable or fixed-layout formats are the best option for you.

Yes, we do. We can produce eBook files in many languages including those with non-Western characters, such as Japanese, Standard Chinese (Mandarin), Urdu, Bengali, Hindi and Modern Standard Arabic.

Yes, we offer an excellent service for accurately digitising printed books. Please complete the form below or email helpdesk@ebookpartnership.com with details of your project.

No, we do not embed DRM protection into the eBook files we produce.

Most sales channels use their own DRM solutions (at no additional cost), which can be applied when your eBook files are uploaded to the specific channels.

  1. You provide your eBook content and cover files, and add the book details through your online Dashboard.
  2. We upload the files and metadata to your chosen sales channels.
  3. We collate your sales and royalty information from the various channels, and you can access this through the Dashboard.
  4. We also collect the royalty payments from the sales channels and pay these to you at a frequency you specify, via PayPal, Wise, BillPay, or online transfer directly to your bank account.

Unless we have agreed a separate arrangement with you, we do not charge any commission on your royalties; so everything we receive from the retail channels will be paid to you.

For Publishers and content owners with multiple titles we offer a tiered pricing model based on the number of live titles that you manage through our service. This starts at £241.67 + VAT per year for up to ten titles.

Other pricing models are available and we are happy to discuss what works best for your business model.

Distribution fees are payable in advance, and are non-refundable once your files have been sent to our sales partners.

Your eBooks will usually be available through the selected sales channels within 5 days of us receiving the eBook files, cover and metadata. Some sales channels take longer to approve (3+ weeks) and list a new title than others, and in some cases the approval process can be delayed if a sales channel requests documentation to confirm publishing rights.

The only reflowable eBook format that we distribute is ePUB (Amazon no longer accepts Mobi format for reflowable eBooks).

We distribute a variety of fixed-layout eBook files formats:

  • ePUB3
  • KPF (Kindle Print Replica – Amazon only)
  • Mobi (KF8 – Amazon only)
  • PagePerfect PDF (Barnes & Noble only)
  • NOOK Kids (Barnes & Noble only)
  • NOOK Comics (Barnes & Noble only)

All ePUB files sent for distribution must pass EPUBCheck. This is an industry-standard technical test of the construction of an ePUB file to ensure that the file will work well across different devices and apps.

You can download a free ePUBCheck tool

If you do not have your content in a suitable eBook format, take a look at our eBook conversion service.

Please email your files to distribution@ebookpartnership.com. Where possible, eBook and cover files should be named using the ISBN, for example 9781801500203.epub and 9781801500203.jpg

If the files are too large to email, please use a file transfer service such as Google Drive, WeTransfer or Dropbox.

We can provide FTP access if you have 50+ titles to upload.

Add books individually via your Dashboard.

If you have ten or more titles to upload in a batch we can provide you with an Excel template.

If you use an ONIX-based system to manage your metadata, we can accept Excel or CSV output files. Please contact distribution@ebookpartnership.com to discuss a suitable workflow.

Your eBooks will usually be available through the selected sales channels within 5 days of us receiving the eBook files, cover and metadata. Some sales channels take longer to approve (3+ weeks) and list a new title than others.

To check whether your eBook has been approved and listed you should search the sales channels website using your full book title or ISBN (just the numbers, no spaces or dashes). Your book might not appear on the first page of search results, especially if the genre is very popular or there are other titles with similar names. It may help to find your book by adding your name to the book title when you search.

Please note that we cannot guarantee that every selected sales channel will list your eBook.

RETAILERS

  • Amazon: search your region’s Amazon Kindle store by title, author name or ASIN number (available via your Dashboard). Alternatively add ‘/dp/YOUR ASIN NUMBER’ to the end the Amazon address, e.g. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B4KFBWBL
  • Apple: search https://tools.applemediaservices.com/ by title, author name or ISBN.
  • Barnes & Noble: search https://www.barnesandnoble.com/ (using the ‘eBooks & NOOK’ filter) by title, author name or ISBN.

SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES

LIBRARY SUPPLIERS

Some library suppliers provide individual libraries with access to their inventory through dedicated apps/software and do not have a public search facility.

Yes, every title added to our service needs a unique 13-digit ISBN. The eBook ISBN must be different from any other version of the same book, including any print versions.

Our distribution prices do not include providing ISBNs but we can do this for an additional cost (to be agreed). All ISBNs that we assign for eBooks are under the ‘ebookpartnership.com’ imprint and are registered through Nielsen, the UK ISBN agency.

Yes, you can choose to enrol your eBooks in KDP Select when you add the book details via your Dashboard.

KDP Select is an optional programme that unlocks promotional tools on Amazon. Enrolment requires exclusivity, so your eBook cannot be sold anywhere apart from Amazon for the duration of the enrolment period. Each KDP Select enrolment period lasts 90 days and you cannot cancel your enrolment until the 90 days is up.

To update the details of your eBook such as sales description, prices or sales channels, just sign in to your Dashboard and edit the book information, and submit your changes. Once this has been done, we will submit the changes to all the selected sales channels and update the status of the book, so that you can see that the changes have been actioned. It can take over a week for some channels to display the updated details.

Please email your new files to distribution@ebookpartnership.com. All eBook and cover files should be named using the ISBN, for example 9781801500203.epub and 9781801500203.jpg

If the files are too large to email, please use a file transfer service such as Google Drive, WeTransfer or Dropbox.

If you need help updating the content of your eBook files, please contact us using the form below or by emailing helpdesk@ebookpartnership.com

Zero. Nada. Nothing.

Our eBook distribution service pays out 100% of the royalties that your sales generate, we will not deduct anything.

In most cases your royalty is calculated as follows:

In most cases, the royalty will be 50-70% of the selling price.

*Amazon is the only sales channel that deducts a download fee

When you submit your royalty payment preferences via the Dashboard you can choose to be paid:

  • monthly
  • quarterly (January, April, July, October)
  • annually (January)

The minimum payment amount is £25 and you can set a higher minimum payment via your Dashboard if you prefer to receive larger payments.

You can change the minimum payment amount and payment frequency or request a payment at any time via the Dashboard.

The royalty rate varies between sales channels.

Most sales channels will pay out between 50 and 70% of the net revenue from each sale of an eBook. Net revenue is the selling price less any sales tax and download fee.

The figures below are a guide to what you should expect from each sales channel. However, there are some variables such as the territory of the sale and the file size, that might impact the final royalty amount.

eBook Partnership does not charge any commission on your royalties.
